We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Waste Operations professional to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of waste operational projects and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and forecast budgets on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Handle customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits, Environmental Management Systems, and associated documents such as Fire Prevention Plans and Odour Management Plans.
- Manage Health & Safety proactively, including drafting and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, and Permits to Work.
- Report incidents and conduct training related to Health & Safety.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Relevant or transferable skills and experience in managing waste sites such as Household Waste Recycling Centres and Waste Transfer Stations.
- Experience in budget monitoring and forecasting.
- Proficiency in handling customer complaints.
- Good working understanding of Environmental Permits and Management Systems.
- Proactive approach to Health & Safety Management.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Must possess a current, valid driving licence and have access to own transport for travel to various waste sites across the County.
- Competitive hourly rate.
- Hybrid working model, combining home working with visits to County Hall and waste sites as required.
