About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled Senior Waste Site Operative and HGV Driver to join their Waste Management Delivery Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of plant and equipment, including HGVs, loading shovels, telehandlers, and forklift trucks, to efficiently transfer waste from busy waste transfer stations and recycling and household waste sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate HGVs, loading shovels, telehandlers, and forklift trucks to transfer waste
  • Maximise the recovery of recyclables within waste
  • Safely control deliveries from private traders and district councils
  • Assist the management team in supervising and coordinating site operatives

Requirements

  • HGV, loading shovel ticket, FLT licence (training may be provided to suitable candidates)
  • WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or above (or willing to work towards as necessary)
  • Level 3 award in First Aid at Work, First Response or equivalent (or willing to work towards as necessary)
  • A full, clean, and valid UK driving licence and insurance for business use
  • A knowledge of waste transfer station operations
