About the Role:

The Ad Warrior is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our dedicated Student Services Team. As a Student Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting, safeguarding, enabling, and championing the success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line and responsive advice, guidance, and referral to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team.
  • Act as a designated safeguarding lead, providing pastoral care, practical advice, and working as part of a team delivering an exceptional student support experience.
  • Respond to the needs of students, including those who are vulnerable or require additional support.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners to ensure seamless support and guidance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of student support strategies and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of operating in a similar role in a similar environment.
  • Safeguarding qualification or willingness to undertake this.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and support measures, as well as effective boundary management skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality and diversity issues.
  • Good knowledge of learner needs and issues facing young people.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, time management, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to communicate with confidence with a wide range of people and listen with understanding.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with learners and colleagues, develop positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships.
