Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic graduate to provide academic support to students in science. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in science and a passion for education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Small Group Support: Provide targeted support to small groups of students who may need additional help understanding key science concepts.
  • One-to-One Mentoring: Assist individual students in overcoming challenges in their learning, boosting confidence, and improving academic performance.
  • Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with science teachers during lessons to engage students, manage classroom activities, and support practical experiments.
  • STEM Promotion: Inspire students to explore careers and further studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Exam Preparation: Help students prepare for tests and exams by reviewing content, conducting revision sessions, and teaching effective study techniques.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and students alike.
  • Resource Management: Assist in preparing lesson materials, setting up experiments, and organizing lab equipment.
  • Behaviour Support: Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour effectively and building strong relationships with students.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting young people in their academic journey.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and confidently.
Salary and Benefits

This full-time role offers a competitive salary of £22,000 - £26,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
