About the CompanyThe Digital Preservation Coalition is a leading organisation in the field of digital preservation, dedicated to promoting best practices and innovation in the preservation of digital cultural heritage. We are seeking a highly skilled Archivist for Digital Collections to join our team in London.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in archives, data entry, and collection management, with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential. Knowledge of French and German is desirable but not essential.
We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for growth and professional development. The position offers a competitive annual salary range of £48,000 - £58,000 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the digital archive and its usage, strengths, and limitations.
- Manage the acquisition of new research materials while adhering to budget constraints.
- Digitise paper collections and ensure accurate indexing of data.
- Develop user-friendly glossaries to enhance accuracy and usability.
- Collaborate with the development team to propose innovative solutions for software development.
- Demonstrable experience in archives, data entry, and collection management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities, and work effectively within a team.
