About the Role


We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transport Economist to join our team at undisclosed. As a Senior Transport Economist, you will be responsible for project managing projects for a mix of public and private sector clients, as well as leading the delivery of significant work packages within larger projects.


Projects could range from economic appraisal through to development of strategies and plans, and the delivery of specialist technical advice in areas such as forecasting and economic analysis, wider impacts or evaluation. You will need to have substantial knowledge and experience in transport scheme development and TAG/green book compliant business cases, including appraisal and modelling approaches and analysis of wider economic impacts.


For this role, you will require a proven track record of delivery of scheme development and business case projects or tasks, commercial / financial management that can be applied to the profitable management of projects, and a relevant masters degree or MBA. You will be known to key clients such as DfT Rail, Network Rail, ORR, TfL or regional transport bodies.

Key Responsibilities



  • Project managing projects for a mix of public and private sector clients
  • Leading the delivery of significant work packages within larger projects
  • Developing strategies and plans for transport schemes

  • Analysing wider economic impacts and developing business cases
  • Managing commercial and financial aspects of projects

Requirements



  • Proven track record of delivery of scheme development and business case projects or tasks
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in transport scheme development and TAG/green book compliant business cases
  • Commercial / financial management skills
  • Relevant masters degree or MBA
  • Knowledge of key clients such as DfT Rail, Network Rail, ORR, TfL or regional transport bodies
