About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Manager to join our Procurement Department at Reed. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing our supply chain, leading the sourcing process for a portfolio of procurement projects, and ensuring the delivery of strong contractual arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Supply Chain Sourcing Process: Develop and manage multiple sourcing initiatives to ensure on-target delivery of key business projects.
  • Shape and Challenge Business Requirements: Use market and supplier insight to shape and challenge business requirements, ensuring the delivery of best value.
  • Develop Sourcing Strategies: Develop sourcing strategies for specific projects in line with business objectives, identifying innovative sourcing strategies that challenge current practices.
  • Manage Multiple Sourcing Initiatives: Manage and prioritize multiple sourcing initiatives effectively through agile project delivery and problem-solving skills.
  • Build Relationships: Build deep and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, engaging and influencing at senior levels.

Requirements:

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Present complex commercial/contractual data and concepts.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills: Manage multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Solid Negotiation Skills: Negotiate and influence at senior levels.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Resilient and Tenacious: Develop skills and experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing: Proven experience in strategic sourcing/tendering within a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Business and Supply Chain Knowledge: Relevant business and/or supply chain knowledge.
  • Track Record of Delivering Against Targets: Deliver against targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Regulated Procurement Procedures: Knowledge of regulated procurement procedures (UCR or PCR) and NEC contracts.
  • CIPS or MCIPS Qualification: CIPS or MCIPS qualification, or equivalent experience in transferable expertise.
