Behaviour Mentor for Students with Special Needs

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Southampton and Hampshire. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and contribute to their success and well-being. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement individual behaviour plans.
Key Responsibilities- Build positive and supportive relationships with students
- Implement behaviour management strategies to help students improve their behaviour and self-regulation
- Assist teachers and staff in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom
- Document and track student progress
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with young people with SEN and managing challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEN
The salary for this role is £25,000 per annum, plus opportunities for professional development and training in behaviour management strategies and SEN support. You will also have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and contribute to their success and well-being.
