Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our team in the Adult Community Eating Disorder Service. The successful candidate will work with adults with eating disorders and their carers in the Acorn Day Unit, supporting their recovery through occupational therapy.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting recovery and a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles. They will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, providing sensitive and effective support to service users.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a caring team and contribute to the development of our service. The Trust offers an Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship Scheme, providing the opportunity to apply for this scheme if interested in becoming a qualified Occupational Therapist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to support service users' recovery
  • Work with service users and carers to promote engagement in meaningful occupation and improve nutrition and food skills
  • Contribute to the development of our service, working closely with the team to ensure effective support for service users
  • Maintain accurate clinical records using the electronic patient record system
Requirements
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practice
  • Experience of working with adults with mental health problems
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
