Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per yearThis estimate is based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled PhD candidate to assist our photonics and optics teams in developing novel and impactful photonic devices. The ideal candidate will have experience with computational modeling of photonic devices, particularly resonant metasurfaces and photonic waveguides.
- Design and model resonant metasurface devices, photonic waveguides, and grating couplers
- Build and validate computational models for arrays of resonant photonic nanostructures
The successful candidate will possess:
- A PhD program enrollment or recent graduation (after December 2024)
- Strongly preferred: Experience modeling resonant photonic devices, including high-Q resonances (qBIC, Fano, GMR, etc.)
- Experience with metasurface modeling and design
- Experience with photonic modeling tools such as COMSOL, Lumerical, RCWA (various)
- Experience with scientific coding tools (MATLAB, Python, etc.)
