Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and mental health professionals to create a positive learning environment for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and other difficulties such as ADHD and Autism.
The ideal candidate will have experience in working with children or young people, especially those with mental health challenges, and a genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations.
The role involves supporting students with emotional, social, and mental health challenges, working closely with teachers and mental health professionals, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students experiencing difficulties. The successful candidate will also be responsible for helping to implement personalised support plans for students and promoting positive mental health strategies within the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with emotional, social, and mental health challenges.

Requirements:
- Experience in working with children or young people, especially those with mental health challenges.
- A genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations.
- A willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the students.
- Any relevant qualifications or training in mental health, psychology, or SEN (Special Educational Needs) would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
