Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at Woodside. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and delivering Schemes of Work that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

You will work closely with our exceptional students and staff to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. Your expertise in teaching PHSE and your passion for outdoor learning will enable you to make a significant impact on the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Schemes of Work that meet the individual needs of our students
  • Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans that incorporate outdoor learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of educational programs
  • Support pupils in processing new information and build upon their understanding of the student's manifestation of autism
  • Contribute to the development of our school community through innovative ideas and best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Strong background in teaching PHSE and outdoor learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Degree in Education or related field (or equivalent experience)

Salary and Benefits:

£21,940 (actual salary) per annum, plus additional benefits including term-time only contract, 190 contact days, and 5 inset days. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.
