Honiton, Devon, United Kingdom HC-One Full time

In your role as a Support Worker at HC-One, you'll prioritize kindness above all. This ethos extends to every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes.

We're currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Support Worker to join our team at one of our care homes. Whether we provide long or short-term, convalescence, respite, or palliative care, our focus is on delivering exceptional service at all times.

As a Support Worker under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of our residents. You will assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and helping with meals.

Delivering care that comes from the heart is essential. It's about ensuring our residents never lose their dignity or sense of individuality as you participate in general activities within the care home. Whether you're assisting someone with limited mobility to learn to use an aid, offering emotional support to a confused or distressed resident, or providing care to someone at the end of their life, you'll always have their well-being in mind.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and therefore it is essential that you can recognize the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm, or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas.

To provide the kindest possible care, there are 5 qualities that everyone who is part of the HC-One team shows up with, supports, and coaches in each other every single day. We call these 5 qualities Kindness the HC-One Way:

  • We are curious and ask questions, look for clues, and seek to understand.
  • We're creative yet practical, using our imagination to make things happen.
We champion inclusivity, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves. Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to learn from each other and better represent the communities we serve.

We offer a competitive salary of around £10-£12 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, making this a great opportunity for career advancement. In addition to your hourly rate, you'll enjoy access to a range of benefits and services to support your well-being:

  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Free uniform
  • Nutritious meal available during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
  • Group life assurance cover
  • Wagestream - financial wellbeing and flexible access to pay as you need it
  • Award-winning learning and development and support to achieve qualifications
  • GP online - a service providing around the clock GP consultation via an interactive app - available to you and your children under 16
  • Colleague discounts – Access to over 1600 high street discounts including carefully selected discount partners
  • Wellbeing - free of charge access to an independent and confidential Employee Assistance Programme. This gives Colleagues and their family access to 24/7 365 support for a whole range of issues including physical, mental, and financial issues
  • Excellent recognition schemes such as 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards
