Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in Plymouth, supporting students with additional needs. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require extra support to succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students who may exhibit challenging behaviours, using de-escalation techniques and a trauma-informed approach.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support to help students manage their challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor and adapt support for each child.
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those with additional needs (experience in schools, youth work, care settings, or similar roles is ideal).
  • A good understanding of conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
