About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for effectively planning territory coverage, delivering a blended contact strategy, and building strong business relationships with customers to achieve an annual territory sales target and personal performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined territory, providing a principal point of contact for CooperVision with the overall objective of achieving long-term, year-on-year sales growth.
  • Develop and introduce new products to customers on behalf of the Company to maximize opportunities presented.
  • Ensure outstanding knowledge of CooperVision's products, clinical and technical information, product strategy, market and commercial positioning, and brand messages to assist customers in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Deliver training programs to retail staff to improve knowledge of CooperVision's products and placement.
  • Organize and execute clinical training in liaison with the Professional Services team to improve clinical knowledge of employees and build brand loyalty.
  • Form close relationships with Regional Managers and representatives within the account structure to provide a platform for commercial, retail training, and educational programs.
  • Represent the Company at seminars, exhibitions, and meetings as required to enhance the customer experience when interacting with CooperVision's team members.
About You

You will be a sales professional with experience in a sales environment and a demonstrable track record in defining and achieving sales results. You will work well under pressure, have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, be a great communicator, and be tenacious and resilient.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience and track record in defining and achieving sales results.
  • Awareness and ability to make a positive impact with prospective, existing customers, and others in a coaching style.
  • Enviable track record of achievement (target achievements) gained from organizations that demonstrate and require strong interpersonal skills to influence at all levels of management.
  • Strong relationship builder with enhanced listening and coaching skills.
  • Understanding of investigative questioning and sales process.
  • Highly proactive and able to work successfully alone as well as within a team to pre-determined objectives.
  • Ability to manage a large geographical sales area.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Experience in the optical industry is preferable.
  • Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential.
Work Environment
  • Home-based field role with a strong preference for living on the designated territory, with approximately 60% of the time spent out of the home visiting customers/colleagues and 40% making phone calls to and holding virtual meetings with customers.
  • Extensive travel across the own geographical territory and with occasional travel in the UK and internationally.
  • Represent the Company at evening/weekend exhibitions and seminars, including overnight stays and occasional weekend working.
