nChain seeks a highly motivated Patent Administrator to join our team in London. As a key member of our IP department, you will play a critical role in administrating commercially valuable IP assets.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to manage patent filings and prosecution through our network of IP counsels and service providers worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deadline Monitoring: Track and manage deadlines associated with patent and trademark matters, developing reporting dashboards to help track deadlines by the IP counsels.
  • Gather Evidence and Legal Documentation: Compile evidence of trademark use or IDS patent documentation as required, facilitating the signing of legal documents and contracts.
  • Renewals and Assignments: Manage renewals and assignments of patent and trademark rights.
  • IP Database: Ensure data relating to the IP rights is accurately stored and managed, leading the implementation of an alternative IP database and supporting the smooth migration of records.
  • Financial Coordination: Interact with the finance department for invoice approval, approving invoices per our delegation rules and commercial terms.

We offer a competitive salary range of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including enhanced private medical insurance, flexible/hybrid working, enhanced parental leave, training budget, cycle to work scheme, 25 days annual leave, and more.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in patent formalities and IP support is required (essential), with a CIPA Administrator Certificate or equivalent being a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with good IT skills is essential.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work under pressure, with intercultural awareness and skills, and great team playing skills.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Technical Skills: A good working knowledge of Excel, Patent & Trademark databases, and Intellectual Property Filings.
