Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, including Autism, severe learning difficulties, and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with Autism and complex needs, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Assist students with limited mobility, including those who use wheelchairs, in accessing the school environment and participating in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement personalized curriculum and behavior management strategies for students.
  • Support students in developing their communication, social, and life skills.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and medication administration as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex needs, preferably in an educational or care setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting students with physical disabilities and mobility issues, including wheelchair users.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or degrees, such as Health and Social Care, Psychology, Criminology, or Nursing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting students with diverse needs.
