Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SEN Mental Health Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and mental health support to children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and shadow the class teacher to ensure the smooth delivery of lessons
- Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN, focusing on emotional and mental health needs
- Develop and implement engaging lessons to promote learning and fun
- Assist with behavioural management and de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized support plans
Requirements:
- Experience working with vulnerable children or young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of child development and mental health principles
- Relevant qualifications or training in mental health or a related field
