Quantum Hub Manager for the UK Quantum Position Navigation and Timing Programme

The University of Glasgow is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hub Manager to lead the UK Quantum Position Navigation and Timing Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operational management of the programme, including assessing project needs, preparing timelines, identifying key milestones and project work plans, and ensuring that deadlines and deliverables are achieved.
The Hub Manager will work closely with the Principal Investigator and Director to provide leadership and direction to the programme's operational and Business Development teams and ensure alignment to important internal and external information deadlines and meeting schedules. The role will also involve engaging with new opportunities as they arise to deliver value to the research and partner communities.
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive working knowledge of financial management, with an ability to manage and control budgets, analyse financial data. They will also have in-depth knowledge and understanding of project/programme management methodologies and well-developed understanding of policies surrounding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and data protection and the implications of non-compliance.
The Hub Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an accurate spend profile for the programme that meets funder requirements. They will also ensure partner spend plans and commitments are delivered within budget, including the assessment and management of spend risks for core budget.
The role will involve proactively managing close working links and acting as the key interface with the EPSRC's appointed programme manager to ensure that University and EPSRC timelines are integrated. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and resolving a wide variety of complex issues using specialist knowledge and a high degree of initiative.
The Hub Manager will develop and regularly review performance against the programme's key performance indicators (KPIs), produce collated reports and be the responsible owner for the risk management framework. They will also ensure effective communications are in place with all stakeholders, including consultation and management of expectations.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful staff leadership and management, including target setting and performance management. They will also have experience of working in a research-intensive environment and be able to influence, liaise and co-operate with people across organisational boundaries, including senior management.
The University of Glasgow offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including 41 days of leave for full time staff, pension, benefits and discount packages. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and has funding for up to 5 years in the first instance.
