A Breakfast Chef

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to join our team at Château de Mercuès. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a high standard, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth service and high-quality food.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes, in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of food, reporting any issues to senior chefs.
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Present food to guests in a clear and confident manner, explaining dishes and ingredients.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance, punctuality, and uniform standards.

Requirements:

  • Culinary qualification or experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Food hygiene qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong culinary skills, with knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to follow them strictly.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as per the demands of the restaurant.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and perform repetitive tasks.
