Biomedical Scientist Opportunity at North West London Pathology

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Trainee/Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Electron Microscopy Unit at North West London Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a specialized diagnostic service to patients within the hospital and external users.
Main Responsibilities
Your duties will include specimen reception, data entry onto LIMS, sample preparation, embedding, sectioning, archiving slides, blocks, and reports, as well as document control. You will also be responsible for entering specimen details onto the LIMS system, tissue processing, and in-house preparation of solutions and equipment maintenance.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will have a 2nd class Honours Degree in a biological science acceptable by IBMS/HCPC for Registration, or an equivalent higher academic qualification. You will also be enrolled in the first year of an accredited BSc.
Skills and Abilities
You will possess methodical skills, being able to follow instructions, and good communication and presentation skills. Quick to learn and comprehend, you will be prepared to work with biological materials.

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month, providing laboratory training for relevant laboratory roles. All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
Job Requirements
Suitable applicants must have good communication skills and the ability to manage work and study. You will need to have a good background and experience in core laboratory duties, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control.
