The role

As an Ethical Trade Coordinator, you will support Sedex Members (large UK/International retailers) to effectively embed Sedex into their ethical sourcing process by supporting them with Supplier Onboarding, Audit management, and acting as the interface between Sedex and Sedex Members.

The role is initially on a 12-month basis with potential to continue into a longer contract. Flexible working with the Sedex office based near St Pauls with occasional visits to Sedex Members' offices within London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contacting suppliers in scope and asking them to register on Sedex, activate their account, and complete the Self-assessment questionnaire and establish links and visibility for the supply chain.
  • Performing regular supplier data matching to identify outstanding actions for suppliers' registration, linking, and Self-assessment questionnaire completion.
  • Contacting lapsed suppliers and asking them to activate their account.
  • Ensure all active suppliers have completed their SAQ to 100% or update SAQ every 6 months.
  • Running risk assessments for registered suppliers and identifying suppliers in scope for Audits.
  • Supporting with drafting communication to suppliers about the project and ethical requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers on grievance mechanisms to align with clients' requirements.
  • Ensuring Sedex Members' accounts contain links with active/existing suppliers that are in line with Sedex Members' suppliers' database and removing outdated links with delisted/not active suppliers.
  • Leading on Audit booking and Audit reports visibility on Sedex.
  • Reviewing and assessing Audits' results in line with clients' assessment/grading criteria.
  • Reporting and analyzing Suppliers' Audits and Non-compliances data.
  • Leading on suppliers' post-Audit compliance process with non-compliances to be closed in a timely manner and with derogation process in place where necessary.
  • Helping troubleshoot any issues that suppliers may experience with any of the above steps.
  • Creating regular updates about progress on supplier onboarding, Audit management, and post-compliance process.
  • Liaising (and escalating if necessary) with Sedex Members' internal teams on due or overdue Audits, Non-compliances closure flagged issue clarifications around SAQ.
  • Preparing regular reports with programs' KPIs highlighting actions needed from internal teams and suppliers on incompliant suppliers and outstanding Audit issues.
  • Conducting training sessions/webinars and providing relevant guidance for suppliers in scope.
  • Engaging with Internal teams on suppliers' onboarding and escalation process.
