Your primary responsibility will be to review, draft, and negotiate property transaction documents to support the management and development of our extensive property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional support and guidance on commercial property law matters
  • Review, draft, and negotiate property transaction documents, including commercial leases, renewals, licences, assignments, and development-related agreements
  • Work closely with our in-house Property team to advise on a broad range of legal issues
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Corporate Confidence and Assurance team to ensure timely advice and support

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • 6 years plus PQE working within commercial property (in private practice or in-house)
  • A basic knowledge of planning frameworks, construction law, affordable/social housing arrangements, and/or competition law would be advantageous
  • The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, focused, and able to handle a varied caseload with minimal supervision
  • Collaborative, with a strong ability to communicate and business partner with those who are not specialists in this area
  • Able to be pragmatic, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives and operational effectiveness
  • A strategic thinker able to view transactions and schemes within the broader context of the Society's purpose and longer-term portfolio objectives

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a confident manner to deliver results
  • Organized, methodical, and able to maintain accurate records
  • Good time management with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize as necessary
