Job Title: Children and Young People Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children and Young People Officer to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). This role is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Assessments and plans for children and young people with SEND.
  • Ensure statutory processes are followed and deadlines are met.
  • Write and issue EHC Plans, attend annual reviews, and update EHC plans as needed.
  • Manage a caseload of complex children and young people, including early years with SEND.
  • Liaise with professionals, parents, and carers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Considerable experience working in a service that focuses on children and young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge and relevant experience of working within SEND legislation and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to learning new skills and staying up-to-date with SEND best practices.
