About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Brackenrigg Inn, located in the heart of the Lake District. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the day-to-day operations of the inn, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and manage the inn's operations, including managing staff, inventory, and finances.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with the head chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences and promote our passion for food in a lakeside location.
  • Manage the financial performance of the inn, including revenue, payroll, and overheads budgets.
  • Ensure all revenue, payroll, and overheads budgets are met.
  • Support the manager with rotas and working on team utilisation.
  • Liaise with the pub manager to successfully deliver the service.
  • Ensure check in/check outs are completed to company standard.
  • Support Housekeeping to help drive standards.
  • Learn all systems required to carry out duties.
  • Take care of Guests Billing.
  • Ensure all complaints and feedback are managed to company standard. Provide a sympathetic ear to any complaints received.
  • Manage the ongoing training, development, and performance of the Brackenrigg Team. Promote and lead a culture of continual professional development.
  • Oversee all ordering and deliveries to ensure good stock control and minimal wastage.
  • Ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhere to the company's health and safety policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Supervisor experience in a similar setting.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • A good knowledge of customer care/complaint handling.
  • Minimum of Maths and English Grade C or above qualification.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • First Aid.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Food hygiene.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Confidence in dealing with staff and guests.
  • Good Leader.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Budgetary/costing experience.
  • Responsible.
  • Confident.
