Role Overview

Educational Psychologists at Vox Network Consultants play a vital role in promoting the inclusion and improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As a key member of our team, you will apply psychology to drive positive change and support schools and settings in their efforts to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality services that make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a thorough understanding of professional knowledge, skills, and experience to meet post requirements, adhering to HCPC standards and legislation.
  2. Apply a sound understanding of legislation guiding EP work, adhering to values and time scales.
  3. Maintain a working knowledge of key strategies and values of the Local Area and EPS, ensuring alignment with individual practice and performance.
  4. Proactively support culturally responsive practice relating to the role of Educational Psychology.
  5. Promote learning organisation methodology, leveraging case work to enhance systems-level work and internal systems adaptations.
  6. Lead small projects or programmes of work in the EPS or educational settings.
  7. Volunteer for lead positions, such as AEP rep or consultant for specialist areas.
  8. Develop supervisory skills using a recognised approach for TEP supervision, peer supervision, education staff, and other professionals.
  9. Utilise group techniques to facilitate change, recognising its importance in local area leadership.
Requirements
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary work and working with a wide range of professional agencies.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the education of vulnerable children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Qualification and/or experience in assessment/intervention in a therapeutic modality.
  • Honours degree in Psychology and professional EP qualification from a recognised training course.
  • Successful experience as an Educational Psychologist or trainee EP on placement in the public sector.
  • Skills in working to a consultation model, undertaking psychological assessment, and planning/delivering intervention programmes.
  • Knowledge of psychological theories and their application in education.
  • Understanding and application of psychological knowledge and theory in individual casework, change, and organisations.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, statutory frameworks, and best practice affecting children and young people with SEN/D.
