We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our CAMHS team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues, working autonomously within the overall framework of the Trust's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To conduct specialist assessments to determine the most appropriate treatment plan from a range of options for the child/young person.
  2. To work autonomously within the overall framework of the Trust's policies and procedures.
  3. To develop and implement effective treatment plans, taking into account the child's/young person's individual needs and circumstances.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral-level degree in clinical or counselling psychology, be registered with the HCPC, and have formal training in specific therapeutic modalities. They will also have previous experience working in CAMHS and be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Criteria

Experience of supervision, working with neurodevelopmental issues, and knowledge of positive behaviour support and autism/ADHD/LD assessment would be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, trauma, and neurodevelopmental issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
