In this rewarding role as an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting children with special educational needs at Master Class Education. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with SEN and possess excellent communication skills.

About the Role

You will be working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This may include providing 1:1 and group support, assisting with classroom management, and helping to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans and adapting classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Support students in building social skills, emotional regulation, and independence within and outside of the classroom.
  • Monitor the progress of students with SEN and report back to the SENCO and teachers on their development.
  • Help implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide personal care and support to students where needed, ensuring their well-being and comfort during the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals (e.g., speech therapists, educational psychologists) to ensure a holistic approach to supporting each child.
  • Assist with classroom management and support creating an inclusive, positive learning environment for all students.

  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs of the classroom and individual students.

£81.75 - £85.02 per day
