About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs in our primary school. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping children access learning and thrive in our nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Child-Centered Support:
    • Provide tailored one-to-one or small-group support to meet individual child needs, fostering independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
    • Implement strategies outlined in the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), regularly updating progress and suggesting adjustments as needed.
    • Prepare resources to support learning and inclusion, promoting a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  2. Encouraging Inclusion and Social Development:
    • Support children in developing positive relationships with peers, encouraging participation in school activities and ensuring access to the broader curriculum.
    • Promote the school's Christian values in interactions with all pupils, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
  3. Administrative and Monitoring Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of child progress and interventions used, contributing to reports and reviews regarding child development.
Requirements:

We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant who has worked with children in an educational or care setting. A good understanding of SEND and strong interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting every child's potential are vital for success in this role.

Estimated Salary: £28,500 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
