Research Opportunities at The International Society for Bayesian Analysis

We are seeking highly skilled researchers to contribute to projects related to epidemiology, estimates, and modelling of the global HIV epidemic in collaboration with the UNAIDS Reference Group on Estimates, Modelling, and Projections.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with international research partners and stakeholders to coordinate research activities and lead new research on epidemiological analysis and modelling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop statistical and mathematical modelling approaches for estimating HIV epidemic trends and transmission dynamics.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate research activities amongst a large number of international research partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead new research on epidemiological analysis and modelling related to the objectives of the UNAIDS Reference Group.
  • Develop new statistical and mathematical models for combining administrative health system data and population survey data to understand HIV patterns and trends.
  • Model the optimal design of new HIV surveillance platforms in sub-Saharan Africa that leverage biomarkers for recent HIV infection and HIV case surveillance data.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A postdoctoral or predoctoral degree in a relevant field such as mathematics, statistics, or epidemiology.
  • Strong expertise in Bayesian analysis and computational methods.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and collaboration with leading experts in the field.
