We are seeking an exceptional Lead Practitioner - History to join our dedicated team at The Hundred of Hoo Academy. As a key member of our Humanities department, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies to drive student progress and achievement.
- Lead the development of the History curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to our students' needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality lessons, workshops, and projects that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Mentor and support colleagues in their teaching practice, providing guidance and feedback to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
- Analyse data to inform teaching and learning decisions, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
- Contribute to the development of the academy's educational vision and values, ensuring they are reflected in all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience of teaching History in a secondary school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to the development of the academy's educational vision and values.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practice in teaching and learning.
