About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Practitioner to join our History department at The Hundred of Hoo Academy. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the academy's mission to deliver outstanding educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies to drive student progress and achievement in History.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality curriculum programs that meet the needs of all students.
  • Lead the History department in achieving academic excellence, promoting a culture of excellence, and fostering a love of learning among students.
  • Contribute to the development of the academy's educational vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the Trust's goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues, promoting professional development and sharing best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with academy and Trust policies.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching History in a co-educational comprehensive school setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to extra-curricular and enrichment provision.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum in History.
  • Proven track record of successful strategies for raising achievement and sharing good practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Good administrative skills, with attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams, with a focus on professional development and growth.
