Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Contract: Part Time, permanent

Hours: 19 hours per week

Salary: Unqualified: Up to £14,820.52 pro rata (£29,641.04 FTE) with one sleep in shift

Qualified: Up to £15,452.84 pro rata (£30,905.68 FTE) with one sleep in shift

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris. As a key member of our residential home, you will work with young people with challenging behaviour, providing a high standard of childcare and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people with challenging behaviour, providing a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the residential home

Requirements:

  • Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People, or willing to work towards the qualification which will be fully funded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Computer experience to an intermediate level
  • Full manual driving license essential
