Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team, supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a mainstream secondary school setting. As an LSA, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support and helping students access the curriculum, while also contributing to the overall school environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, promoting an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere for all students.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans, working closely with teaching staff to ensure students can access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
  • Supporting students in the classroom, ensuring they can engage with the curriculum and build their confidence and independence.
  • Helping with the management of classroom behaviour and providing a safe and supportive learning environment, conducive to effective learning.
  • Liaising with parents and professionals to support students' development and wellbeing, contributing to the overall school environment.

Requirements and Salary

This position requires a proven track record of supporting students in an educational setting, with experience working with SEND and knowledge of strategies to support students with a variety of learning needs. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, reflective of experience and skills, with a guaranteed minimum of £32,000 per annum, plus ongoing support and training to enhance their career.
