Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at Birds Bakery. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for supporting the Shop Manager in all operational aspects of running the shop and ensuring the success of the shop in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Ensure that excellent customer service is always provided by every member of your team, delivering a positive experience for our customers.
  • Team Management: Inspire, motivate, train, and energize your team to increase sales and achieve business objectives.
  • Visual Presentation: Ensure that the visual presentation of the shop is in accordance with Birds brand image, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Compliance: Be compliant with Company policies and operational guidelines, upholding our high standards.
Working Hours

Our ideal candidate will be available to work Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, with flexible hours to cover for staff holidays, sickness, and busy periods.

Requirements
  • Experience: Supervisory experience is desirable, but not essential, with the skills and ability to drive and motivate the performance of your staff.
  • Knowledge: A sound understanding of shop operations and standards for success, with a basic and practical knowledge of IT.
  • Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible attitude to working hours.
Benefits

We offer a competitive package, including 4 weeks holiday per year pro rata, increasing to 5 weeks after 5 years continuous service, plus bank holidays and staff discount.
