We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Lawyer to join our Complex & Catastrophic Loss Team at Keoghs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Partner, Matthew Burfield, to assist on complex, high-value multi-track and large loss personal injury claims.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management of a caseload of complex injury claims, including high-value multi-track and large loss claims.
- Communicate effectively with insurer clients, dealing with their queries and updating them on the progress of claims.
- Conduct forensic analysis of voluminous quantum evidence and draft concise technical advice on all aspects of claim handling.
- Identify next steps required on matters and discuss these with the Lead Lawyer, taking action as agreed.
- Interview witnesses, draft statements, and liaise with parties involved in claims.
- Deliver agreed performance targets and quality standards.
- Assign tasks to Legal Assistants and/or Paralegals and be fully engaged in their development.
- Maintain case management systems with up-to-date management information for clients.
- A qualified solicitor, CILEX, or proven legal experience with a minimum of 2 years' experience in large loss assisting or file handling.
- Experience of indemnity, liability, and quantum.
- A well-rounded lawyer with a deep understanding of case law, litigation practice & process, and Court Practice Rules.
- The ability to deliver an outstanding service to clients.
