Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expertise and advice to support product development and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory expertise and advice to support product development and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards.
  • Lead the identification of banned and restricted substance requirements for product design and ensure regular collaboration with global stakeholders.
  • Assess chemicals compliance, including banned, restricted, and declarable substance requirements, and feed this into project leadership.
  • Guide and interpret regulatory requirements early on to designers and feed technical risks and justifications up to senior management.
  • Regularly update senior stakeholders of new regulations and requirements globally.
  • Research and maintain a comprehensive register of regulated chemicals and substances related to development and sale of Dyson products.
  • Contribute to the work of a small and specialist team assessing new products and communicating requirements for product design and development.
  • Work with applicable Compliance engineers and design and engineering teams to guide them on developing compliant products for the global market.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and help them develop their technical regulatory work.

Requirements

  • Chemistry or materials degree (or equivalent) and/or significant industry experience is required.
  • Previous experience in product regulatory compliance and experience in product design is preferred.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of: RoHS, REACH, Prop 65.
  • Awareness of CLP and BPR would be desirable.
  • Experience of dangerous goods requirements (desirable).
  • Experience working with laboratories (desirable).
  • Good organisation and report keeping for managing projects.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior members.
