About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates who are eager to apply their knowledge in a hands-on role, working closely with children who require additional support in their learning.

As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in helping young learners overcome challenges, developing their confidence and promoting positive progress in their academic and personal growth.

  1. Provide tailored support to primary-aged children with special educational needs, including those with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or social and emotional difficulties.
  2. Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and specific learning strategies designed to meet the unique needs of each child.
  3. Work one-on-one or with small groups of children, fostering an encouraging and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver effective, child-centred support.
  5. Help children build essential skills such as communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
What We're Looking For:
  1. A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related field.
  2. A passion for working with children and making a positive impact in their lives.
  3. Strong communication skills, patience, and an empathetic approach to supporting children with a range of needs.
  4. A desire to develop practical experience in the field of special educational needs and child development.
Requirements:
  1. Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to get a new one.
