About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our Thanet Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) as a Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will have extensive clinical experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties, including those with moderate to severe and profound learning disabilities.
Main Responsibilities
- To be the clinical lead for the Thanet CYPMHS, responsible for leading on service development and delivery, including research opportunities.
- To develop partnership working with all key agencies, ensuring the service is delivering the most clinically effective interventions in line with current research and clinical guidelines.
- To ensure the service is routinely measuring clinical outcomes and delivering evidence-based practice, auditing the service delivered.
- To provide clinical leadership and specialist treatment and assessment within your professional sphere of expertise in the service, responsible for the extensive clinical supervision of clinicians.
About NELFT's Children & Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS)
NELFT's CYPMHS is a free at the point of entry service for anyone aged between 0-18 living in Kent, with a focus on emotional wellbeing as well as mental health. The service includes access to self-help tools and services based in schools and the community, with a modern approach that fits with children's lives.
Person Specification
- Successful completion of a post-graduate training in psychological practice (psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist).
- To be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, AFT, ACP).
- Extensive experience of working with moderate to profound learning disabilities, disturbed or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions.
- Extensive experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems.
