Assurance Program Manager

The British Business Bank is seeking a highly skilled Assurance Program Manager to lead the development and implementation of its assurance programs. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that the bank's lending activities are subject to robust assurance processes, which provide confidence to our stakeholders that we are operating in a controlled and compliant manner.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing assurance programs that align with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements. This includes developing and maintaining effective assurance frameworks, methodologies, and tools, as well as providing guidance and support to business areas on assurance best practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assurance, risk management, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and developing effective assurance strategies. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, including product managers, relationship managers, and other business leaders to understand their needs and priorities. Your ability to build strong relationships, influence and motivate others, and drive business improvement will be essential in this role.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining assurance policies, procedures, and guidelines; designing and implementing assurance programs; conducting regular reviews and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of assurance processes; identifying and mitigating risks; and collaborating with other departments to address assurance-related issues.
