Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports and Leisure Operations Manager to join our team at Places for People Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in driving membership numbers and delivering outstanding customer service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to lead and coach the membership teams in achieving the 'everyone a member' objective. You will be responsible for supporting your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, promoting the benefits of activity, and ensuring that all members have a positive experience.

You will work closely with your team to create an environment that is welcoming, friendly, and supportive of customers' choices on how, when, and where they are active. Your focus will be on driving sales performance, monitoring personal and team targets, and completing reporting requirements within set deadlines.

In this role, you will also be responsible for managing enquiries and prospects, making full use of technology provided, and following established processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach the membership teams to achieve the 'everyone a member' objective
  • Support the team in delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Monitor personal and team sales performance and complete reporting requirements within deadlines
  • Manage enquiries and prospects using technology and established processes
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in membership sales, ideally within a leisure or hospitality environment
  • Leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing teams to KPIs
  • Passion for health and fitness, with strong product knowledge
  • Ability to communicate Places Leisure's vision to the team and ensure a customer-first approach
  • Proven ability to motivate teams to deliver sales and customer service on a consistent basis
