Procurement Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Quantity Surveyor to join our North East commercial team based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contributions from all departments relevant to the tendering and procurement process to ensure quality sub contractor procurement aligned with various tenders and PCSA's across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the commercial manager to determine works package breakdown and inclusions, current construction methodology and intents and schedule procurement stream for each package using contract programme.
  • Prepare procurement strategy for each works package from package creation to package order placement and start on site.
  • Liaising with sub contractor supply chain to ensure timescales for the return of pricing is in line with Kier procurement programme.
  • Assess sub contractor return to ensure all relevant elements are included in line with project design specification.
  • Manage sub contractor relationships, fostering collaborative working with trusted partners as well as reviewing potential for new relationships within our supply chain.

About the Role:

This role presents a great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor level professional who would enjoy focussing on procurement rather than project surveying. The role offers flexibility to work between our Hebburn office and home as appropriate and agreed by the commercial manager.

Requirements:

  • A qualified construction quantity surveyor with experience working in Tier 1 Main Contractor environments.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of managing pre construction commercial management of large 2 stage D&B contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of the local sub contractor supply chain covering a wide range of relevant disciplines (groundworks, civils, frames, cladding, roofing, internals, finishing).

We're proud to be an inclusive employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. We look forward to seeing your application to join Kier Group.
