Our team in Atherstone is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our progressive depot with high growth and development. A critical role that puts the safety of our People above everything else, you will drive and deliver continuous improvement in site operational delivery, including investigating accidents, near misses, and incidents that occur at the workplace.

Key responsibilities include daily health and safety compliance, overseeing tasks such as site inductions, refresher training, tool box talks, hazard identification, risk assessments, and safe systems of work. Ensuring staff engagement in hygiene programs and coordinating team labor resources efficiently are priorities. Monitoring the hygiene team's performance, maintaining compliance with policies, and upholding standards are crucial. Effective communication, training delivery, and coordination of initiatives are key. You will also advise management, promote safety campaigns, hold scheduled meetings, and maintain documentation. Proactively enhancing safety awareness, reporting incidents, and collaborating with operations are essential.

Requirements include a NEBOSH Certificate, experience in carrying out risk assessments, and at least 2 years of experience in a Health and Safety-focused role. Previous experience of working within the FMCG is desirable. Food Hygiene Management Level 4, knowledge of the principles of chilled food manufacturing in high-risk, low-risk, and low-care environments, and a proactive, self-driven, results-oriented approach with a positive outlook are also essential. Keen to deliver exceptional customer service, an effective motivator and mentor, and a good track record of delivering success in a hygiene management role within a FMCG environment are also required. Credible and comfortable in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders, a full UK driving license, and ad hoc travel to other locations within the group are also necessary. Must be prepared to remain on call and contactable.

Shifts Work: Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, subject to a fixed shift roster, 5 shifts of 10 hours including 45 minutes of unpaid break.

HSE Advisor Duties:

HSE Advisor Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate
