St Giles Hospice is a leading provider of palliative care services in the UK. Our team of experts delivers high-quality care to patients and their families, while also raising vital funds to support our life-changing work.

We are seeking an experienced Events and Community Development Manager to join our team and help us achieve our mission to provide the best possible care to those who need it most.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase income from community events, managing budgets, income, expenditure and working to financial targets, and building strong relationships with community groups and stakeholders to promote the hospice's work and identify opportunities for fundraising.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to use relevant software and work effectively under their own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase income from community events.
  • Manage budgets, income, expenditure and working to financial targets.
  • Build strong relationships with community groups and stakeholders to promote the hospice's work and identify opportunities for fundraising.
  • Work closely with the Community and Events Manager to deliver high-quality events that meet the needs of supporters and donors.
  • Deliver the operational delivery of income streams from community events.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing budgets, income, expenditure and working to financial targets.
  • Proven track record of working to and achieving targets.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a portfolio of community supporters.
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and legislation.
  • Experience of working in a busy community/regional fundraising team.
  • Proven track record of development of income streams.
  • Experience of campaign management.
  • Demonstrable experience of event management preferably within a fundraising environment including the development of events from feasibility to delivery.
  • Experience of dealing with commercial donors.
