Perinatal Specialist Midwife

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated midwife to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital, leading the preterm birth service and providing expertise in clinical leadership and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the preterm birth team to ensure high-quality care for patients and their families.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce preterm birth rates.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways for patients with preterm birth risks.
- Educate and train staff on best practices and national guidelines for preterm birth care.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with national standards and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Participate in research and clinical audit to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge to stay up-to-date with best practices and national guidelines.
- Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions.
- Develop and implement tools and resources to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure effective service delivery.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
Essential criteria:
- Registered midwife with a strong clinical background and experience in preterm birth care.
- Diploma or degree in midwifery with a focus on perinatal care.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lead and manage a team to achieve high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of national guidelines and standards for preterm birth care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to educate and train staff on best practices and national guidelines.
