Job Overview

This perinatal midwife position requires the provision of autonomous, evidence-based women-centred care while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, representatives, and service users. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality safe midwifery care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence compliant with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Develop individualised midwifery care plans that are woman, pregnant person, child, and family centred.
  2. Ensure all risk assessments and referrals are completed and actioned, and documented accurately.
  3. Follow established midwifery/obstetric guidelines where applicable and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to implement patient care, reporting any deviations from protocols.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records that comply with trust and regulatory requirements.
  5. Pursue continuous professional development, including mandatory training and online learning opportunities.
  6. Exercise compassionate counselling and information-giving skills to support patients and their families.
  7. Maintain adherence to professional standards across all aspects of midwifery care.
Person Specification
  • Holds current NMC registration as a midwife.
  • Demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Possesses experience working in various clinical areas.
  • Remains up-to-date with evidence-based practices and national/local developments in maternity care.
  • Aware of relevant professional rules and codes of practice.

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020, requiring disclosure submissions to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Estimated Salary Range: £22.36 per hour
