Job Description

This is a 12-month developmental Band 6 midwife position working with our specialist perinatal mental health midwife. The successful candidate will have a keen interest and passion for perinatal mental health with hopes of further development.

  • The post holder will provide support and education to maternity and multidisciplinary staff, caring for women and their unborn babies to ensure a safe and appropriate plan of care is made.
  • They will work alongside external agencies, e.g. community perinatal mental health services, mental health services, and partner agencies.
Main Responsibilities
  1. Assessing care and health education needs of women and their babies.
  2. Maintaining accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care within the necessary framework.
  3. Reviewing midwifery practice and implementing appropriate changes based on research/best practice.
About the Role

This role requires strong relationships with statutory agencies, such as the social services and the police, in an inter-agency context where activities will be complex to maintain care across professional groups.

Salary and Benefits
