Senior Perinatal Psychologist Opportunity

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a highly motivated and experienced Senior Psychologist to join its perinatal mental health service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialist psychological therapies to women and birthing people experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum.

**Estimated Salary:** £70,000 - £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

* You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for women and birthing people with moderate-to-severe mental health problems in the perinatal period.
* Develop and deliver training programs for staff, students, and other professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in perinatal mental health.
* Collaborate with midwives, GPs, and other professionals to develop treatment plans and ensure seamless care transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk assessment and formulation, to inform treatment planning.
* Deliver specialist Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based psychological therapies in the context of trauma and loss.
* Supervise junior psychologists and contribute to service development through projects and training initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

* Post-qualification experience in secondary care mental health services, preferably in a perinatal mental health setting.
* Expertise in CBT and other evidence-based therapies for trauma and loss.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet service user needs.

Desirable Skills:

* Doctoral-level knowledge of research methodology and statistical analysis.
* Experience of working in a specialist perinatal mental health service or mental health service in maternity.
