About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced mechanical production engineer to join our team as a Mechanical Production Engineer with NPI (New Product Introduction) expertise. This role requires someone who can effectively introduce new products into production, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new production methods and processes to support NPI.
  • Create and maintain process instructions for all product builds.
  • Work closely with design departments to ensure effective Design for Manufacturability (DFM) processes.
  • Liaise with suppliers to develop subcontract processes in support of manufactured products.
  • Manage and report on project/part cost containments.
  • Estimate accurate production times and costs.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable machining experience on complex components.
  • A relevant engineering qualification (Degree or minimum HNC).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (NX12 or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Vericut simulation and SAP ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of the latest machining and inspection techniques.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, embracing change.
