SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be working with a non-verbal pupil with Down syndrome, providing support and care in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized support to a non-verbal pupil with Down syndrome
  • Assisting with behavioral management and implementing strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Working collaboratively with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Providing emotional support and care to the pupil
  • Assisting with daily living skills and promoting independence

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of behavioral management strategies and techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting children with special needs
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
